As some of you know, I have been collaborating with Shuva Rahim of Accent Photographics  (Website: www.accentphotographics.com ) on a very exciting project:  we are producing a 2009 Men of Yoga Calendar!  Tonight wraps up the final photo shoot (most likely, anyways...), and we're really proud of all of the wonderful guys who have agreed (graciously & some very shyly) to model for this project.



The reason I chose "men" of yoga specifically is because I really wanted to bring to light the many men who are practicing and teaching yoga.  Traditionally in India, thousands of years ago, yoga was practiced by ONLY men!  Now in the west there are many more guys who are "in to" yoga than one might think!  However, if you walk into a sporting goods store & ask where the men's yoga wear is located they look at you as if your nose is on upside down or something!  So, I truly wanted to change the public perception a bit - also, we're turning this into a fundraising project!!  Of course we're raising some funds for Indigo and Accent Photographics, BUT...we've selected Living Lands & Waters as the charitable organization we'll be donating 10% of every calendar sale to!  They are a wonderful organization that has grown so much in a few short years ~ Chad (the founder) has really illustrated how patience, persistence, and tenacity can lead to great things!  These are philosophies that we embrace in yoga, so it seemed like a perfect fit!
