Full Hunter's Moon (Entry for October 15, 2008)
Last night was a full moon ~ the name for the October full moon is the Hunter's Moon.  These names came from the various Native American tribes of what is now the Northern and Eastern United States...it was a way to mark the changing of the seasons and to closely follow the natural cycles and rhythms of the surroundings.

I have been tuned into the energy of the moon since childhood, and have noticed through study and observation that there are three days of full moon energy ~ the day before, the day of, and the day after (although it is the most intense on the day of).  This is a time when things are brought to the surface ~ if you've been feeling a certain way, or holding back emotions it is a useful time to bring those issues to light.  Be careful ~ this energy can be strong and intense...be mindful when choosing how to express yourself!

Orion was born on a full moon, and it seems to be quite special to him as well ~ he always has a harder time going to sleep on these nights, so I've learned that by taking him outside to see the moon in its full, shining, mysterious glory he can rest more easily.  We talk about the cycles of the moon, and at 4 he is learning about when the moon waxes and when it wanes...it's  a special subject to share with my little magical boy!

Ok...onto more busy - ness ~ just wanted to pause and share a bit.  Enjoy the rainy day - keep shining from within to keep from feeling down.  Blessings!
