I'm still a bit floaty from the truly special moment that I got to be a part of on Monday, January 5th.  I was invited to attend a birth!  (Out of respect to the new parents & baby, I won't disclose their names or the very specific details of what went on in the delivery room.)  I do want to say, however, that it was a precious and rare gift to be witness to this moment of raw truth as new life was ushered in by the work and want of a woman most in-tune with the signals of her body.  The labor and delivery were done without drugs...and it rushed back every memory & moment of my own drug-free birth experiences.  The beautiful baby girl was so alert and mom & dad were able to instantly enjoy the first meeting in the outside world.  It was a breath-taking display of strength, courage, and true beauty. 

I am sincerely grateful for being able to be there for such a special moment...and now I'm left wanting more...(not more children personally at this moment...=) but I would love to have the opportunity to do something like this again!



(makes a handstand look easy, by the way!!  haha...)
